Meet Dorothy the Hairless Pug Who Wins Hearts in Every City

The first time people lay eyes on Dorothy, they usually stop in their tracks. Some smile instantly, others blink in surprise, but every single person remembers her.

That’s because Dorothy isn’t an ordinary pug — she’s completely hairless.

A Little Dog Who Turns Heads Everywhere She Goes

Her mom, Micah Williams, loves watching those first reactions. Strangers often can’t decide whether to laugh, gasp, or pull out their phones for a photo.

“Every time someone sees her, they either melt with love or look completely stunned,” Williams said with a grin. “It never gets old.”

Dorothy’s soft pink skin and round, expressive eyes make her look like a tiny creature out of a storybook. While most assume she must have lost her fur to illness, that’s not the case at all.

Dorothy was born without hair, and that’s just who she is.

From the very beginning, she’s been healthy, happy, and loved exactly the way she came into the world.

A Mystery Wrapped in Wrinkles and Love

When Williams adopted Dorothy, she wondered where her unusual look came from.

The little dog clearly had the face of a pug, but something about her bare skin hinted at another breed hiding in her family tree.

To solve the mystery, Williams sent off a DNA test and waited for the results. The verdict only deepened the curiosity: 87.5% pug and 13% terrier or “other.”

In other words, Dorothy remains a one-of-a-kind mix. “The test didn’t really solve anything,” Williams laughed. “But we wouldn’t change a thing about her.”

Dorothy’s unique appearance hasn’t slowed her down one bit. She enjoys the same joys as any other pup — naps in the sun, long snuggles on the couch, and her favorite crunchy treats.

Her mom likes to joke that Dorothy might not have fur, but she has “enough personality to make up for it.”

Her skin is smooth and surprisingly soft, so she doesn’t need brushing. But there’s one small downside — she gets cold easily.

“When we lived in Phoenix, the heat meant she could wander around without clothes most of the year,” Williams explained.

“But after moving to Chicago about eight years ago, that changed completely.” The Midwestern winters turned Dorothy into a true fashion icon.

A Bald Beauty With Endless Charm

Now, Dorothy owns more clothes than many people do.

Her wardrobe includes tiny turtlenecks, colorful dog onesies, and a growing collection of puffy coats that keep her warm during snowfalls.

Dressing her each morning has become a ritual. “I think she secretly likes it,” Williams said. “She struts around like she knows she looks good.”

Beneath her stylish outfits, though, Dorothy is pure pug at heart. She has a face that always seems slightly unimpressed, yet she’s all affection once someone gets close.

She loves to snort when she’s happy, curl up in laps, and beg for snacks with the determination only a pug can master.

“Her expressions make people laugh, but she’s honestly the sweetest soul,” Williams said. “She’s everything a pug should be — cuddly, funny, lazy, and full of love.”

Whenever they take walks, Dorothy draws attention like a celebrity.

Cars slow down, people stop mid-conversation, and kids point in awe. Some whisper, “Is that a real dog?” while others kneel to pet her and end up falling completely in love.

Williams always smiles through it all. For her, those moments remind her how special Dorothy truly is — a reminder that beauty doesn’t always come wrapped in fur.

As the little bald pug trots happily down the sidewalk in her pink sweater, she radiates the kind of quiet confidence that can only come from being deeply loved.

She’s different, yes — but that difference is exactly what makes her unforgettable.
