How One Woman’s Race Against Time To Save A Lovable Pup From Euthanasia

Noodle the Gentle Pup Overcomes Hardship with Love and Care

Stray pups wandering the lonely streets long for the warmth of kind-hearted humans and the safety of a loving home. They long for the gentle touch of a loving hand to feel cherished and cared for, just as they deserve.

Once rescued and taken to shelters, every dog hopes for the same thing: a forever home where they can snuggle with their humans and finally experience true happiness.

It breaks my heart to know that in many shelters, senior dogs and those in poorer health often find themselves on euthanasia lists. Their stories deserve to be told, and their lives deserve a chance at love and companionship.

Noodle was one of those sweet shelter pups facing an unimaginable fate—scheduled for euthanasia because of his health condition and the unfortunate reality that no one wanted to give him a home.

As he lay alone in his kennel on the night before his scheduled goodbye, he had no idea that a kind-hearted woman was on her way to change his life forever.

A Second Chance for Noodle

Noodle was a gentle stray dog who found himself at a shelter in Detroit, facing a tough battle. He suffered from a degenerative brain disease that caused him to wobble and faint, leaving him vulnerable and alone.

While at the shelter, no one came to claim him, and despite his sweet nature, potential adopters overlooked him.

Heartbreakingly, after his stray hold, the vet recommended euthanasia. Noodle’s time was running out, with his fate sealed for the very next day.

Tiffany Perkins, the compassionate founder of PAWS Friend Network, is dedicated to helping paraplegic, amputee, wheelchair, and senior shelter dogs. Her sanctuary also provides loving hospice care for seniors in need.

When she learned about Noodle’s heartbreaking situation, sleep eluded her. Thoughts of the sweet pup consumed her, and as dawn broke, she hurriedly made her way to rescue him, determined to change his fate.

A Heartwarming Connection with the Adorable Pup

As soon as Tiffany brought Noodle into her home in Detroit, she felt an instant connection. It was clear he belonged there. Noodle, with his sweet and affectionate nature, quickly bonded with her, filling the space with warmth.

Initially, Tiffany wasn’t sure if Noodle would need hospice care, but she was determined to shower him with love and give him the best life possible. She embraced every moment with him, cherishing their time together.

Noodle soon formed a strong friendship with her other dog, Luke. The two became inseparable, often cuddling and providing each other with comfort, creating a loving atmosphere in their new home.

Since Noodle was underweight, Perkins believed he must have spent weeks wandering the streets, struggling to find food. Determined to help him thrive, she put him on a special diet, and gradually, he began to gain weight and regain his strength.

This sweet pup wasted no time showering his mom with affection, covering her face with kisses at every opportunity.

As Perkins learned more about Noodle’s condition, she discovered that his fainting spells were triggered by excitement. With this in mind, she focused on creating a calm and predictable environment for her beloved dog. She ensured that Noodle felt safe and loved in his new home, allowing him to flourish and embrace the joy he so richly deserved.

Perkins adjusted her bed so Noodle could easily hop in and out on his own, ensuring he felt comfortable and independent.

To create a relaxing space, she set up a low couch near the window, allowing Noodle and his brother to gaze outside together.

“Seeing him happy and watching the world through that window brings me so much joy,” she shared.

Noodle cherished these moments, especially as he cuddled with his mom and brother while watching the rain. In those peaceful moments, he felt truly safe and loved, surrounded by warmth and affection.

Noodle, the affectionate pup, relished his daily walks, especially the trips to the beach that brought him pure joy. With his eyes sparkling and a big smile on his face, he soaked in the beautiful views, radiating happiness.

Perkins adores Noodle, affectionately calling him “the biggest, sweetest marshmallow.”

She reflects on how he has been a beacon of comfort during a challenging time in her life. Feeling incredibly fortunate, she cherishes every moment with him, knowing he has helped heal her heart.

“Noodle has been an incredible comfort to me. His arrival in our lives was just what we needed as we were grieving the loss of our previous dog. He has truly helped us heal during this difficult time. His kindness, sweetness, and cuddly nature make him feel like the biggest teddy bear,” said Perkins.

We’re overjoyed that Noodle has found his forever home. He is now cherished and loved just as he deserves.

A heartfelt thank you to Perkins for shining a light on senior and disabled shelter dogs and for giving Noodle the loving home he always dreamed of.
