Just after Thanksgiving, when homes were glowing with lights and families were gathering, one senior dog was quietly left behind. She was a 14-year-old black Lab mix with fading fur and eyes that had seen too much.
Her body was frail, her steps were unsteady, and her heart was clearly broken.
