Shelter Employee Walks Past Dog’s Kennel And Can’t Believe Her Eyes

Wile E. Coyote wasn’t your typical shelter dog. After being rescued from a remote part of Louisiana and brought to the Louisiana SPCA, he kept to himself. Calm, quiet, and gentle — he seemed content to watch the world go by from the corner of his kennel.

Then, one ordinary Tuesday, he received something new: a plain pillow.

This dog has a serious love for feathers!

Feathers Everywhere

That evening, while the shelter was empty and quiet, Wile made a discovery that brought out a whole new side of him. Inside that pillow? A treasure trove of soft, fluffy feathers.

By the time staff arrived the next morning, it looked like a snowstorm had blown through the shelter.

“The pillow was untouched when we left around 5 p.m.,” said Jessyca Sulfsted, communications manager at the Louisiana SPCA. “But by 7 a.m., the kennel was covered in feathers. It was everywhere.”

A Proud Pup

The mess was massive — feathers in corners, under kennels, floating through the air. And right in the middle of it all sat Wile, looking more than satisfied with his night’s work.

Staff were shocked — but not upset.

“That’s the only thing he’s ever destroyed,” Sulfsted said with a laugh. “He’s usually super mellow. I guess something about those feathers brought out his wild side.”

Still Finding Feathers

Weeks later, bits of that feathery chaos are still being found. The shelter team says feathers continue to turn up in the oddest places.

“Fun fact: we are still finding feathers in random corners of the room,” Sulfsted said.

Despite the fluffy explosion, Wile E. Coyote remains a sweet, well-mannered dog — just with a newfound passion for feather-filled fun.

He’s currently looking for a forever home, ideally with an active family, some playful energy, and perhaps a strict no-feathers rule.
