Although life on the streets was harsh, Magic never stopped fighting for her survival.

When local police encountered Magic, they took her to Santa Clara Animal Care & Control in California.
At last, the dog exhaled a sigh of relief, feeling for the first time that someone truly cared for her.
Life In The Shelter Kennel
The shelter team welcomed Magic with open arms, ready to help her.
They took her to the vet where they discovered her dry skin and the scars marking her body.
While the staff didn’t know her past, they suspected she once had an owner because she wore a leash. They scanned her for a microchip, but it wasn’t there.
Assuming she was lost, the shelter placed her on a stray hold, hoping her family would come for her.
When no one came after the stray hold expired, Magic began searching for a forever home.
At first, she felt optimistic that an adopter would soon take notice of her.
However, as time went on, Magic noticed that the visitors barely glanced her way and she felt heartbroken. Her hope of finding happiness began to fade.
The shelter team thought that perhaps the adopters overlooked her because of her size. She weighed 85 pounds.
In addition to her size, Magic’s age might have been a factor—at four years old, she was seen as an older dog.
Life in the kennel was hard for her. She couldn’t fully relax and show her true personality to potential adopters. Her face was always marked with sadness.
Hoping For A Dream Come True
The shelter staff and volunteers knew Magic was a sweet, loving dog.
Each time they took her for a walk, her sadness disappeared and her eyes lit up with joy.
To help the dogs at Santa Clara Animal Care & Control find their forever homes, compassionate people created a TikTok channel to share videos of the shelter dogs.
On October 22nd, 2024, they posted a video showing Magic’s transformation from a sad, sheltered dog to a happy, smiling pup when the staff took her outside.
Viewers who watched the clip were charmed by her joyful energy and radiant beauty.
Magic is now in a loving foster home where she is showered with the affection she deserves. She loves cuddling and spending quality time with her foster family.
