Today, we share the story of Malea, a gentle dog who also fell victim to such betrayal. She was left in a scorching dumpster, the lid closed tightly, with no regard for her safety or well-being.
This sweet canine waited, hoping kind humans would rescue her and give her the love she so desperately needed.
Heroes Come to the Rescue of the Adorable Pittie
A compassionate man witnessed the heartbreaking scene in a Missouri neighborhood and immediately reached out to Stray Rescue of St. Louis for help.
Without hesitation, the rescue team, led by Donna Lochmann, the chief life-saving officer, rushed to the pup’s aid.
Upon arriving, they quickly lifted the dumpster lid, revealing the sweetest pair of eyes gazing up at them, filled with hope.
The sweet canine began wagging her tail, her face lighting up with joy. She felt the warmth of someone caring for her, and for the first time, hope flickered in her heart.
As the rescuers arrived, relief washed over them at the sight of the pup. Yet, sadness lingered as they grappled with the harsh reality of human cruelty toward such an innocent creature. Their hearts ached at the thought of what she had endured.
“We struggled to hold back tears; this truly choked us up. It was so hot inside that dumpster, and we’re just thankful she didn’t pass out,” Stray Rescue Louis shared on their Facebook page.
They couldn’t help but shudder at the thought of what might have happened if she had been left in that sweltering dumpster for even a moment longer.
Malea is Showered with Love on Her Freedom Ride
Lochmann gently climbed into the dumpster and reached out to stroke the sweet Pittie, who would soon be named Malea. With a leash carefully fastened around her neck, she lifted the grateful pup out of the darkness.
As they made their way to the car, the rescuers could feel Malea’s warmth and appreciation radiating from her.
She expressed her gratitude with joyful kisses, licking their faces in pure delight. Lochmann embraced her tenderly, whispering reassurances that filled the air with hope.
“You’re a beautiful girl. You don’t belong in that dumpster. Besides, you are not trash. And you are NOT trash. No, you’re a beautiful girl, and your life matters. Yes, it truly does.”
As Malea leaned against her rescuer’s shoulder, a sense of safety washed over her.
As the rescuers made their way to the shelter with Malea, another urgent call came through. Two innocent puppies were in desperate need of help, abandoned in a downtown parking lot.
The rescuers rushed to the address, their hearts filled with hope as they found two lovely puppies eagerly waiting for them. Overjoyed at their arrival, the pups wagged their tails as they were gently scooped up and taken to the shelter, where they would finally receive the love they needed.
On the Journey to a Forever Home
Due to the shelter being at full capacity, the two puppies found refuge in loving foster care. At the same time, Malea was welcomed into the shelter’s Overnight program, designed for those who wish to provide a temporary home for a dog in need.
“Malea is in a nurturing environment where she’s being thoroughly spoiled! She gets along wonderfully with other dogs and shows a gentle nature with little kids, too,” shared Natalie Thomson, the rescue’s Director of Marketing.
All three pups are surrounded by warmth and affection, and they are eagerly searching for their forever homes. Each of them deserves a loving family that cherishes them as the treasures they truly are.
