Family’s New House Comes with a Delightful Surprise They Never Expected

New Family Moves In and Discovers a Friendly Furry Neighbor Through a Hidden Fence Hole

Alongside graduation, marriage, and welcoming a child, buying a new home is one of life’s biggest milestones. Naturally, everyone wants to know exactly what they’re getting without any unwelcome surprises.

Kayla and her family felt the same way as they prepared to move into their new home. But not long after settling in, they discovered something that hadn’t been mentioned in the listing.

Instead of being upset, though, they were pleasantly surprised by what they found.

The Highlight of the House

When Kyla and her family discovered a part of the house that had not been mentioned in the listing, they were a little taken aback.

In a video she shared on Instagram (@wanderlustkyla), it quickly became clear that this surprise was actually the best part of their new home.

It starts with Kyla happily playing on a swing in their backyard, and while that alone seems hard to top, the next moment definitely steals the show.

The camera shifts to reveal the true highlight: a small hole. But it isn’t the hole itself that’s special, but the adorable furry head that soon pokes through from the other side.

It’s the head of their neighbor’s Stewie, popping through the hole to check on the neighborhood and say a friendly “hello.”

While some might find this a bit bothersome, Kayla’s family – especially the kids – are absolutely thrilled to have a furry neighbor who greets them every day and checks in on them.

In the video caption, Kayla shared a fun detail: the hole wasn’t originally for Stewie.

“For those who are wondering, the hole was already there when we moved in! The previous owner said it was for a sump pump long before Stewie came along,” she explained.

This Video Brought Joy to Many

In the video Kayla shared on Instagram, even the family cat joins in the fun and tries to say hello to Stewie.

While the cat doesn’t seem quite as excited as the children, it’s still heartwarming to witness such a sweet interaction.

The reactions to the video really show how much joy it brought to people. It got a ton of attention and some of the comments were just too good not to share.

One person suggested, “Paint a flower so Stewie can be a flower!!!!” Another chimed in with, “I mean seriously. How awesome is that!!!”

Someone else jokingly added, “You’re lucky it wasn’t in the listing, otherwise the bidding would have skyrocketed! 🐶”

Kayla even shared that they’ve got plans for the future, using some of the money they saved from the house purchase.

“We are looking into making a door for him!” she wrote at the end of the caption.
