At Logan’s Legacy Dog Rescue, unpredictability is part of the job. Plans can change in an instant, and sometimes those unplanned moments lead to the most meaningful rescues.
That was exactly the case one afternoon when volunteer Mary was out looking for a missing dog.
Her search took a completely unexpected turn when a tiny, distressed pup suddenly appeared before her. The little dog was barely recognizable — her fur was tangled beyond belief, and she was covered in fleas and dirt. It was clear she had been struggling alone for some time.
A Surprise Discovery on a Routine Search
Mary followed the trembling dog down narrow streets and alleys, careful not to frighten her further.
Eventually, the pup led her straight to a man who had been leaving food outside for her. “We don’t want her, we just leave food,” he explained. “Do you want to take her?”
Without hesitation, Mary agreed. The dog, later named Bettina, was in desperate need of care and attention.
