A shelter is no place for dogs, and deep down, we all know it. Yet, more and more of our furry companions are finding themselves in noisy, unsettling kennels where love and security are out of reach.
In many cases, this is the result of human indifference. But sometimes, it’s the unfortunate reality of situations where an owner can no longer care for their dogs due to health or financial struggles.
Sadly, it’s the same for the dog in these stories. He doesn’t understand why he’s suddenly in a shelter; he only knows that he’s in a cold, unfamiliar place and that his beloved owner is no longer there.
The sad expressions of two dogs who lived through this fate show just how deeply all shelter animals feel in these moments.
A Heartbreaking Look
Not long ago, Mia, a three-year-old Beagle, and her four-year-old brother, Fraser, lived in a warm home full of love. Then, everything changed. Due to health issues, their owner could no longer care for them, and the two dogs found themselves at the WNRSPCA shelter, where their world fell apart.
The shelter staff, too, were devastated by their situation, especially when they saw the sorrowful expressions on their faces.
They shared a video on their TikTok, accompanied by these heart-wrenching words: “POV: Your owner who adored you fell ill, and now you’re stuck in this noisy, scary kennel, not knowing what you did wrong.”
In the video, it’s clear that Mia and Fraser are not accustomed to shelter life. They are calm, house-trained, and remarkably quiet for Beagles.
They were once playful and joyful in their loving home, but all of that faded when they entered the shelter.
A Wave of Heartfelt Reactions
This video struck a chord with many, moving viewers to tears.
Here are just a few of the heartfelt comments that flooded in:
“Oh no, poor baby. I hope the best for you, sweet angel. I’m so sad for the previous owner…” wrote one user.
“OH, SWEET MIA 💖🥺😭😭😭,” another added.
And one more shared: “Boost for Mia & Fraser to find a loving home ❤️.”
We join in, hoping and praying that these two deserving souls find their forever home.
As the caption says, “Mia is meant to be curled up on someone’s sofa with her big brother Fraser.”
