When Gloria’s foster mom first met her, they were in for a surprise. Although they expected her to be in rough shape, nothing could have truly prepared everyone.
At first glance, she looked like a young puppy, maybe 10 weeks old. She was small, so sweet, but clearly in pain. Her eyes were bright, almost piercing, as if she could see right into everyone’s heart.
Her new mom made a silent promise, “We’re going to get you all healed up, Glo.”
Healing Her Heart and Skin
Not long after, the pup now has two co-foster moms. Together, they vowed to give her the love and care she’d missed out on.
When Ronnie met her, she whispered, “Oh my goodness, it’s so nice to meet you.” Those early days with Glo were rough.
Her skin was raw and flaky, and she had almost no fur left. But they saw something special in her – a spirit, a spark that made her name, Glo, feel just right.
Their biggest goal was to help Glow feel safe and loved. They bathed her several times each week, soothing her painful skin with gentle hands and warm water.
She’d gaze up at everybody, her tiny eyes full of trust and gratitude, as if she was silently saying, “Thank you.”
Growing Stronger, Day by Day
Her first trip to the vet was a surprise – they found out she wasn’t a puppy at all. She had all her adult teeth, though her small frame and tender manner could fool anyone.
Learning that Glo was older, that she’d likely suffered for so long, broke everyone’s hearts. Yet, she stayed joyful, wagging her little tail and snuggling up for comfort.
Having two homes – her foster mom and Ronnie’s – seemed to work wonders for the puppy. She quickly learned to adjust, whether on the couch at my place or curled up on Ronnie’s rug.
They’d catch her doing the cutest things, like stretching big after a nap, her tiny paws reaching forward. She’d look up with those sparkling eyes, reminding us just how far she’d come.
In time, Glo’s spirit began to shine through even brighter. She wasn’t scratching anymore, wasn’t in pain – she was just a happy, wiggling bundle of love.
Finding Her Forever Home
After six weeks, it was time to think about Glo’s future.
It wasn’t easy to imagine saying goodbye, but they found the perfect family, one that loved her just as much as they did.
She would finally have a forever home filled with warmth and care.
Seeing Glow go from an aching, itchy little dog to a joyful, confident friend was beyond rewarding. Her transformation wasn’t just on the outside – she’d blossomed on the inside, too.
From the very beginning, she kept her heart open, facing each day with a wag and a nuzzle.
To everyone who ever doubted that small dogs could have such strength and joy – Glow’s story is proof of just how resilient and loving they can be.
