Jennifer McKee, a dedicated dog rescuer in San Antonio, is always on the lookout for pups in need. When she came across a Facebook post about a mom dog and her two puppies abandoned in a park, she didn’t hesitate for a second—she immediately drove over to offer them help.
A Family in Need of Rescue
When McKee arrived, she found the little family huddled together on a rain-soaked blanket. She approached slowly, careful not to frighten them, but to her surprise, they were more than ready to be saved.
“They were sleeping, so I was quiet and slow,” McKee shared. “I didn’t speak, just offered the mama some turkey. She took it and was starving, licking the bowl like crazy.”
A New Beginning
McKee quickly loaded the mom and her puppies into her car, not knowing how long they’d been out there, but clearly understanding they hadn’t known love or care for a long time.
“The mama was skin and bones, her skin and fur a mess,” McKee recalled. “The puppies looked good considering how they were found.”
McKee had the trio checked by a vet and is now fostering them until they’re ready for adoption. Although they may have never experienced love before, their foster family is making sure they will never know anything but joy from now on.
With the help of TikTok followers, the mom dog has been named Nova, and her puppies are Peaches and Tank. The trio has since been on shopping trips, treated to pup cups, and even had the chance to meet Santa. They are now being spoiled as they deserve.
“Mama sat so nice with Santa, and we have beautiful photos to share with their future forever families,” McKee wrote on TikTok.
McKee can’t wait to find them loving homes where they’ll continue to be cherished and spoiled just as they have been in their foster home.
