Just like people, dogs have their favorite moments that they cherish with their furry friends. These precious times are something they look forward to, and they’re not too keen on anything that might interrupt them.
One of their favorite activities is a playdate, when owners step back to let their dogs enjoy some special time together.
Unfortunately, unexpected situations can sometimes ruin a dog’s plans—and it’s not always people or external forces to blame.
This was clearly shown by a Labrador who eagerly waited for his furry neighbor to come over for a playdate. However, the outcome of the visit left him feeling quite disappointed.
Playdate in His Dreams
In a video shared on November 30 by TikTok user @syd_and_the_kids, Baine, a lovable Labrador, was seen lounging on the couch, his head resting on the armrest. His expression clearly showed disappointment.
He had been looking forward to an exciting playdate when his neighbor, Brody, came over. But instead of enjoying endless playtime, Brody had other plans: playdate in his dreams. The video then panned to Brody, completely sprawled out on another couch, as if he owned the place.
Fast asleep, Brody seemed completely unaware of Baine’s excitement. It was as if Brody needed some rest before he could bring his full energy to the playdate.
Despite the surprise turn of events, Baine didn’t seem too bothered. He waited patiently, his tail wagging just a little in anticipation. You could almost hear his thoughts: “There’s playing to be done! Why wait?”
Even though this wasn’t the playdate Baine had imagined, it definitely wouldn’t be the last time Brody visited. Baine and Brody live in a more remote area, meaning they often visit each other.
That’s probably why Brody felt so comfortable at Baine’s house. He’s known to stroll in, help himself to a treat, and then head home—or, in this case, take a nap before going on his way again.
Viewers React
Baine’s owner has several dogs and regularly films them, sharing their antics on TikTok. Some of the videos have millions of views, and this one did well, too.
The video sparked several reactions, and we’ve picked out a few comments to highlight.
“That dog lives with toddlers obviously 🙄 🤣,” one user wrote.
“I can relate! My best friend and I don’t hang out often, but when we do, I always end up passing out with my head on his mom’s lap 😂😂,” another joked.
The third comment read: “Oh no! I hope he had a good nap and then got the playtime he deserved 💞.”
To this user’s delight, and Baine’s too, the two dogs eventually played together in the backyard. However, their playtime was brief—Brody got tired again and returned home to nap.
